After the event

Reviews and photos you can
actually trust.

Anyone can leave a five-star review on other platforms. On Function, only people who bought a ticket or RSVP'd and got scanned in at the door can review an event or post photos from the night. No bots, no fake ratings, no drive-by hate — just the people who were actually there.

Verified attendees only

The right to review unlocks after check-in. If you weren't scanned in, you can't post — so every rating comes from a real guest.

Product philosophy

Most platforms optimize for arenas and headliners. Function indexes the events that actually shape a city — the meetups, the markets, the kickbacks, the conventions, and the meet-and-greets that other apps treat as afterthoughts.

Privacy by default
Privacy controls, not safety claims

Residential addresses are gated to confirmed RSVPs. House rules are enforced at checkout. Reports route to a moderation queue that a person reviews by hand. What Function does not do is vet hosts, inspect venues or attend events — every event is run by its host, and you attend at your own risk. The full picture is in our terms.

When is Function launching? +

How is Function different from Partiful, Posh, Luma? +
Partiful is built around private invites rather than public discovery. Posh leans toward nightlife in major cities. Luma leans toward tech and networking events. Function focuses on the events those platforms tend to overlook — house parties, car meets, college events, networking nights, conventions, meet-and-greets — with three ticket modes (open RSVP, free ticket, paid ticket) and privacy defaults for residential venues that keep the exact address off the public listing.
What does it cost to host? +
$0 to host free events of any kind. For paid tickets, the buyer pays a 5.5% + $0.99 service fee on top of the ticket price — you receive the full face value. Stripe’s processing costs come out of our share, not yours. No monthly fees, no listing fees, no hidden charges.
Can I sell different ticket types, like VIP? +
Yes. A paid event can have multiple ticket types — general admission, VIP, early bird, day-of — each with its own price, its own cap, and its own perks description. Buyers pick a tier at checkout, and the door scanner shows exactly which ticket type each guest holds when they're scanned in.
Who can leave reviews and photos? +
Only people who actually attended. The ability to review an event or post photos unlocks after you're scanned in at the door (or, for open RSVP events, after you've checked in). People who never showed up — and bots — can't post, so ratings reflect real experiences and hosts build a reputation that can't be faked or bought.
How do refunds work? +
One schedule, the same on every event — hosts don't set their own. Refund your ticket yourself from the ticket itself: 100% back 7 days or more before the event, 50% of the ticket price between 24 hours and 7 days, nothing inside 24 hours. The 5.5% + $0.99 service fee comes back in full every time, including on a partial refund — so a $10.00 ticket bought for $11.54 returns $11.54 at 7+ days, or $6.54 at 3 days. Can I host a house party? +
Yes — with strict privacy controls enabled by default. When a residential address is entered, the exact street is automatically hidden from the public feed. Only confirmed RSVPs see it, and only in a host-selected window (1, 2, 4, 12, or 24 hours before). Every residential event requires a mandatory RSVP cap. Hosts can override to make the address fully public, but the override requires a typed confirmation.
When do I get paid? +
24 hours after the event ends, once that event's card funds have settled with Stripe, they release to the host's connected account and reach their bank on Stripe's normal schedule (usually 1–2 business days). Card money takes a few days to settle, so a brand-new Stripe account commonly sees its first payout 7–14 days out — a Stripe-imposed hold, not ours. After that it settles into the 24-hour rhythm.
Where will Function be available? +
Anywhere. Function isn't tied to a launch city — from day one, anyone can create an event or browse what's happening near them, wherever they are. The feed just shows what's around you.
Is it on the App Store yet? +
Not yet — the v1 launch is a Progressive Web App (works on iPhone and Android, installable to the home screen with a native app icon). Native iOS and Android releases follow once Function reaches the user base to support App Store and Play Store certification.
