Launching in Fall 2026

The feed for what's actually happening near you.

Function is the events platform built for what existing apps overlook — house parties, car meets, networking nights, meet‑and‑greets, and the long tail of community events. Paid tickets, free tickets, or open RSVPs.

Where Function fits

Posh is the app for nightlife promoters.
Function is the app for everyone else's events.

Ticketmaster, Posh, Eventbrite

  • Built for big venues and promoter networks
  • Friction every step — long forms, complicated payouts
  • Discovery feed = stadium tours, not your car meet
  • 3.7% + $1.79 per ticket, before you even start
  • Empty in college towns, neighborhoods, and weeknights

Function

  • Anyone can create an event in under two minutes
  • Three ticket modes including a simple "count who's coming" mode
  • Discovery feed indexes small events by city and tag
  • 5% + $1 on paid tickets only; free events incur no platform fee
  • Built for the long tail of community events that other platforms overlook
Three modes, one app

Pick how you want to host. Switch any time.

Most platforms force hosts into a category and lock them there. Function lets the host decide what kind of event it is — based on what they actually need.

01
Free

Open RSVP

A live attendee count, nothing else. No ticket, no QR. Attendees tap “going” and the host sees the number update in real time.

House kickbacks Open networking Sunday park hangs
02
Free

Free Ticket

Capped guest list with QR codes. Attendees reserve, hosts scan at the door. Prevents overbooking and unauthorized entry.

Pop-up markets Fitness meetups Free workshops
House parties, fixed

Public feed.
Private address.

Other platforms either won't list residential events, or they expose home addresses to anyone scrolling the feed. Function defaults residential addresses to private. The event still appears in the feed with neighborhood and city. The full street drops to confirmed RSVPs only, on a host-selected window: 1, 2, 4, 12, or 24 hours before.

For hosts

Host with confidence.
The platform handles the rest.

From event creation to door scanning to host payout — in under five taps.

Live RSVP count

Track your guest list in real time. Set a cap and Function enforces it automatically — no overbooked door.

QR scanner mode

Built-in door scanning from any phone. Camera validates tickets in real time — green check or red X with the exact reason.

Get paid in 24 hours

Stripe Connect, direct deposit. Host payouts release 24 hours after the event ends. 5% + $1 per paid ticket. Never on free events.

Our approach

Built for community.
Designed for trust.

Three principles guide every decision Function makes — about the product, the platform, and the people who host on it.

01
Built for the long tail
Product philosophy

Most platforms optimize for arenas and headliners. Function indexes the events that actually shape a city — the meetups, the markets, the kickbacks, the conventions, and the meet-and-greets that other apps treat as afterthoughts.

02
Privacy by default
Safety first

Residential addresses are gated to confirmed RSVPs. House rules are enforced at checkout. Reports route to a same-day review queue. The platform is designed to protect the people who use it.

03
Hosts paid in 24 hours
Transparent economics

5% + $1 on paid tickets. Nothing on free events. Payouts release 24 hours after the event ends. No monthly fees, no listing fees, no surprises in your statement.

Questions

FAQ

When is Function launching? +
Closed beta in one city in fall 2026, opening to the waitlist shortly after. The waitlist is how to get an invite when Function opens in your area.
How is Function different from Partiful, Posh, Luma? +
Partiful is invite-only with no discovery feed. Posh focuses on nightlife promoters in major cities. Luma serves the tech and networking niche. Function indexes the events those platforms don't — house parties, car meets, college events, networking nights, conventions, meet-and-greets — with three ticket modes (open RSVP, free ticket, paid ticket) and built-in safety defaults for residential venues.
What does it cost to host? +
$0 to host free events of any kind. For paid tickets, Function charges a 5% + $1 platform fee per ticket on top of Stripe's standard processing fee. No monthly fees, no listing fees, no hidden charges.
How do refunds work? +
Each host selects a refund policy when creating a paid event — Flexible (24h cancellation), Standard (7-day cancellation), or Strict (30-day cancellation). Buyers see the policy clearly before purchase and must acknowledge it. If a host cancels the event, or zero tickets are scanned at the door, every buyer receives an automatic full refund.
Can I host a house party? +
Yes — with strict privacy controls enabled by default. When a residential address is entered, the exact street is automatically hidden from the public feed. Only confirmed RSVPs see it, and only in a host-selected window (1, 2, 4, 12, or 24 hours before). Every residential event requires a mandatory RSVP cap. Hosts can override to make the address fully public, but the override requires a typed confirmation.
When do I get paid? +
24 hours after the event ends, funds release to the host's connected Stripe account and reach their bank on Stripe's normal schedule (usually 1–2 business days). New Stripe accounts have a 7-day hold on their first ~$1,000 in payouts — this is a Stripe-imposed policy.
Where are you launching first? +
One city to start — announced closer to launch. Density in a single neighborhood beats coverage across an entire state. Expansion begins once Function reaches 200 weekly active users in the launch city.
Is it on the App Store yet? +
Not yet — the v1 launch is a Progressive Web App (works on iPhone and Android, installable to the home screen with a native app icon). Native iOS and Android releases follow once Function reaches the user base to support App Store and Play Store certification.
